Tang Yuen-ha - Artistic Director
Tang is the only Hong Kong artist to have won the 8th Plum Blossom Award, the most prestigious award for Chinese theatre workers. She was also presented with an Outstanding Performance Award at the Third China Peking Opera Festival in 2001. She was trained by Maestro Yu Zhenfei, the legendary name in Peking Opera and Kun Opera, and received martial art training from Zhang Meijuan, the famous actress performing wudan (military female) roles. Endowed with a broad range voice and rich tone colours, Tang is a versatile actress who excels at civil as well as military roles, and is steeped in both Peking Opera and Kun Opera. Her refreshing performing style has won her the praise of being ‘the pearl of Peking Opera and Kun Opera arts in Hong Kong’. Her most acclaimed repertoire includes The Legend of the White Snake and Romance of the Condor Lovers ( both productions being amalgamations of Peking Opera and Kun Opera ); Kun Opera The Peony Pavilion, Wu Song and Pan Jinlian, The Jade Hairpin; and Peking Opera productions The Iron Bow and You Sanjie etc.
Tang is a dedicated promoter of Peking Opera and Kun Opera in Hong Kong.
She is the founder and Artistic Director of Jingkun Theatre, an Adviser on Chinese Opera of the Arts Development Council as well as the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.

Geng Tianyuan - Resident Director
Geng Tianyuan graduated from the Academy of Chinese Traditional Theatre, specialising in both xiaosheng ( young civil male ) and wusheng ( military male ) roles. A versatile actor, he is recognised for his handsome personae, a flexible voice, and vivid, sensitive interpretation of characters. He was presented with the Best Actor Award at the 3rd Festival of Traditional Chinese Opera in Paris in 2007.
Geng is also a director and has won a Class One Award for Directing in Shandong in 1995, and the Best Director Award at the Sixth Wenhua Awards presented by the Ministry of Culture. His recent directorial feats include the Peking Opera productions The Great Belfry and Romance of the Condor Lovers, the Hunan Opera The Story of the White Rabbit, and the Cantonese Opera The Story of the Wooden Hairpin and The Jade Hairpin.
Geng is currently the Resident Director, Actor, and Lecturer of the Jingkun Theatre.
